To create your own personal houshold inventory, follow these simple steps to get started:

1. Using your personal computer, connect to the internet and go to knowyourstuff
2. Download a copy of the household inventory checklist and print a copy.
3. Carefully record all information about your valuables and personal items, as described in the checklist.
4. Keep a hard copy in a safe place away from your home, for instance a bank safe deposit box.
5. Update the inventory every six months.
